Tips to Consider
- Do you want to offer an option to “repeat the menu”? If so, be sure to include the proper prompt digit.
- Do you want to offer an option for “all other callers” to press zero or wait on line? Be sure to NOT mention that in an after-hours greeting unless you have made programming allowances for answering or voice mail.
- For the most part, less is better, so try to keep the number of options to 4-5 or fewer.
- List the most commonly called department or destination first.
